I am of course freaking out over speaking up in class and participating, as per usual. For some reason my mind just blanks out, even though I take extensive notes on reading and try to prepare myself for class. I just never know what to say, what to ask. I don't think I'm that great a student :( so I may do well on quizzes and papers and the like, but when it comes to actually making an impression during class, it just doesn't work out. And it frustrates me to no end.

But I got a Valentine's Day card in the mail from my Nana today, though, so that was happy-making. :) (And I know she reads these blogs, so hi Nana!)

Awesome news: not only did I get to go to NYC basically three times within one year (thank you RED, colleges, and Thanksgiving), but now I get to hang out once more over my spring break! My roomie is from Long Island, so we (me, her and our friend Lyndsey) will be going out there with her for the break. We're planning on spending a few days hanging out in the city, of course. It's going to rockkkkkk! I wonder if there'll be any RED events that week... hmmm. And of course, I am hell-bent on stalking the cast of Gossip Girl. How do people find out where they're filming?! I can never find any info on this!

I've been writing a lot lately, which is nice, and a good way to clear my mind. I had a crazy dream the other night which I woke up from and couldn't get out of my head, so after classes I went back home and wrote wrote wrote about it. It's weird, the story, but I like it. I think.

Well, we're watching Zoolander right now, so I'm not really paying much more attention to this entry. I just thought I'd let you all know what's up :) Hope everyone is having a fabulous year so far!

I'm a little bit crazed this weekend.

SO I MEANT TO BLOG EARLIER. Like, at least yesterday. But then I got caught up in the start of NaNoWriMo, which started yesterday and which I decided to participate in at 11am yesterday morning. So I've basically just been writing and not really doing much homework. (Up to 6,140 words as of this writing! Yay!)

I also just got off the phone with Saskia, who I rarely ever talk to but who I miss oh so dearly and we are so ready to get home for winter break and take the food scene in Lexington by storm. We reminisce about curry chicken salad sandwiches from Third Street Stuff and eclairs from Giacomo's. Oh how we miss you so!

I should be reading Astronomy units (2.5 to go! because I've fallen behind in my reading, oops) and researching for my CWS rough draft due Tuesday (punk rock + middle east = some sort of paper) and majorly editing the paper I wrote for my Sixties class (the paper that sucked so much, oh man, it's BAD). But I am blogging because I promised myself I would. Yes!

The election is on Tuesday and yes I sent in my absentee ballot at the beginning of the month. Voted for Obama for president, Lunsford for state senate (Ditch Mitch!), and a slew of other peoples for various other positions. I have to say that voting feels amazing, whether it be through absentee ballot or actually walking into the voting booth. By refusing to vote, you're not only silencing yourself, but you're also denying yourself a truly wonderful feeling. And what easier way to make a difference and be heard than to vote? But hey, I can't really force you into voting, though I'll tell you this: if you choose not to vote and then complain about any elected official over the next few years, I will probably hunt you down and smack you. By refusing your say in the election process, you refuse your right to complain.

Halloween was this past Friday and I didn't really dress up (sort of like an axe murderer for a while anyway? since I have a plastic axe), but Brittany and Lyndsey and I went to Standing Stone at 9:30 to eat and drink deliciousness, talk to the lovely workers, and watch part of a John Mayer concert DVD. (John Mayer? Love!)

I caught up on the past two weeks of Gossip Girl this morning. Blair + Chuck = major love!!! And I adore Nate/Chace Crawford. WHAT A HOTTIE.

sufkdsl. Is there a point to blogging if all I do is write a useless post? Bleh. Whatever. Just wanting to let you all know that I'm still here and am still very happy with college life and am trekking along with the craziness that is my life (mostly just crazy because I've decided to do NaNoWriMo. I mean, seriously, why? I have so many essays to write!).

Somebody give me something interesting to write about, plzkthx.

1) So I just watched the most cracked-out episode of Ugly Betty ever. Toxic perfume made Betty nutso! But oh my god, you guys, even though I am totally in love with Henry, I am feeling for Gio. He likes Betty so much! Oh man. Oh man. Am I a bad Betty/Henry shipper? Maybe. But ever since Henry and Betty finally got together, it's like Gio is in the show more than Henry is! What the hell! Sigh.

2) I know, I know. I've been lax on my posting lately. What can I say? Pretty much nothing has been going on. I got into two more colleges — Centre and UK — and I've made more progress in Crime and Punishment — which I adore at the moment. I need to get into major revision mode with my novel and I need to write more Wands songs with Michelle (two shows! February and March!). But right now, at this moment, I actually need to be doing Psychology preview questions. Ah well. That can wait a few more minutes.

3) Even though the writers' strike totally and completely sucks, I'm actually kind of happy that all of my shows are ending around this time. Why? Because when Urinetown rehearsals start up, I might not be able to see some of the shows when they come on at their usual time! And I really don't like watching episodes online. I have no problem putting up with the commercials on TV, I swear. I think that there are one or two more Ugly Betty episodes left, and two (I think?) more of Chuck. Oh man. I never ever thought I'd become one of these people — people who actually tune into a TV show every week! — but it kind of makes me happy, knowing I have these shows to look forward to. It's fun! (And I love commenting about Ugly Betty to Saskia over gchat or MSN or whatever client we happen to be using, because she has no idea what I'm talking about.)

4) Speaking of TV shows, I added Chace Crawford (from Gossip Girl) on Myspace so that I could look at his pictures (HE IS TOTAL EYE CANDY, OKAY? OKAY.) and oh my lawd. I could stare at that face all day! Now I'm wishing Gossip Girl was still going... need more Chace... okay, stop Amy, stop!

5) Maybe soon I'll have something interesting to write about. But until then, um. Hey! I know! You guys give me ideas! What should I write/rant/whatever about? :P Because when you leave me to my own ideas, it obviously isn't pretty.

Randomosity.

• Moment Remembrance: sitting in Sbarro in NYC, eating foodies and chatting with Saskia and listening to the music overhead when all of a sudden "Radios in Heaven" comes on — song of the summer having been "Hey There Delilah" and my not really wanting to listen to it because there are other songs of the Plain White Ts' that I like more — but then hearing that favorite of mine in a restaurant in New York City of all places — it threw me. It was... nice. A welcome sound. One I hadn't heard for, gosh, years?

• New word: pimpressed. From AIM conversation typo. But not my word. No, I don't make cool typos. I just steal them. Pimpressive, non?

• Story: my dad told me (who knows if he was lying or not — I tend to hold stories like these with a healthy shot of skepticism) that when he was in high school, his civics class took a field trip of some sort to see part of a trial. It was a murder trial, and the name of the defendant? Ronald McDonald. Well, yesterday, I saw on YouTube one of the first McDonald's TV commercials featuring Ronald McDonald. All I could think was, "He's a killer... he's a killer... HE'S SO CREEPY... he's a killer!"

• Question: what're everyone's plans for New Year's Eve? Mine: most likely sitting around, watching Buffy, reading, waiting for the ball to drop. Just me and my dad and my mom, as apparently my sister has a party to go to. Now, for all I know, some of my friends may want to get together... but hmm. I kind of doubt it, as no one's said anything up to now, except for Saskia. (Wow, this makes me sound very lame. Ahaha. Well, I kind of am pretty lame. So that's okay.)

• Gossip Girl Tidbits: Apparently Leighton Meester is blonde?! She looks so different and, and weird! Also, another apparently in that apparently Penn Badgley and Blake Lively are dating in real life?! I guess I can let that slide. I mean, Penn should really be dating me, ahem, but Blake Lively is cool, too. So it's all right, for now at least. ;)

Whoahohoho!

Um, Enrique Iglesias is on America's Next Top Model tonight! He is so attractive. Lordy. I want to be in a music video with him... ha. Of course, I had to turn on a song of his when I saw him come onscreen. Whoo. Fiiiine.

But! That's not what I was going to post about. (Man. This blog probably makes me out to be REALLY REALLY hormonal. ...maybe I sort of am. But! I do more than obsess over attractive people! I swear!)

No no, I'm blogging because THE LAYOUT! It is GORGEOUS!

And the book comes out TOMORROW! I told my dad that he's taking me to the bookstore so that we can see if it's already up and such. Heee. So excited.

Mmm. Maybe I'll have more to add later. Commercial break is over!

Oh whoa whoa! Gossip Girl tonight? INTENSE. Penn Badgley? Still hot. But, um. Blair? Chuck? WHOAHOHO! (That is my word of the day, I think. Maybe that's my Gossip Girl word.)

Wow. This is probably the stupidest entry ever. Huh.

Oh, love!

Not much to say, really. Tomorrow, I leave for college visits, which should be... well. We'll just see.

Two things to mention, though.

1) Gossip Girl. I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH GOSSIP GIRL RIGHT NOW. Namely Penn Badgley, the superattractive guy who plays Dan. Saskia and I kind of want to find a shooting location of the show and stalk our favorite actors >.> WE'RE NOT REALLY THIS CREEPY. We're just kind of obsessive. And in love. Um. XD

2) This afternoon, the tickets for SPRING AWAKENING arrived in my e-mail inbox! Oh, excitement! Hayley, Saskia and I are going to see Spring Awakening on the Saturday we'll all be in NYC. It's gonna rock our socks off (assuming we'll be wearing socks).

I was going to leave you with a music video, but apparently I can't embed YouTube vids? Oh well. Just go and look up Spring Awakening. Maybe you'll fall in love, too ;) (AND BY THE WAY, ALL THE GOSSIP GIRL EPISODES ARE UP ON YOUTUBE. You all should go watch that, too. XD)
