  • math. and jonas.

so this summer, i'm supposed to be working on math...i almost failed last year, and that was a new experience...i've only ever gotten A's before that..but anyways. an hour a day was the deal....it's now halfway through the summer, and i have not even touched the books. (okay, that's a lie, i opened one, read a problem, and then the solution. and then wrote down the steps on how to solve a problem like that...but that doesn't really count, does it?)

anyways. i got back from chicago yesterday. we went to see the JONAS BROTHERS :) (fans, anyone?!) and then went shopping. i think friday night was the best night of my life EVER...i seriously almost started crying.

now, i'm watching my dog bite his leg (freak.) but i'll forgive him b/c it's probably the radiation from his chemo. (he had cancer this past spring)...now he's healing the 'wound' by licking it. i'm telling you, he was probably dropped on his head as a baby. i'm also procrastinating and [not] trying to do my math :)

i guess i should get on that.

thought i'd give you all a little update. nothing wise or inspirational..but oh well. ha. life's not always like that.

  • O wow, I havent been on 4ever!!

sooo, yeah...i havent been on in, like, FOREVER!!!

    anyways...

soo...i went in to walgreens to get notebooks and pencils while my mom was in the car, and when i went to check out, the cashier and i had an...um...interesting conversation:::

HIM: Are you from around here?

    ME: Yeah

HIM: Really? I've never seen you before.

ME: Oh **laughs sort of nervously/awkwardly**

    HIM:  Wow,you are beautiful.

    ME: Um, thank you.

HIM: Are you sure you're from around here?

    ME: Yes.

HIM: **handing me the bag** Well, stay beautiful.

ME: Okay, thanks (almost said 'you too' out of habit!).

And then I ran in to the car and told my mom:::

MOM: How old was he?!  **in the concerned mother voice**

ME: How am I supposed to know? Like, high school.

    MOM: Oh, okay. That's good.

ME: Yea, he's the black guy that we've seen before...

MOM: Oh, yeah! I've talked to him before. He's in college.

ME: And..you're okay with him saying that?!!

MOM: Well, he's sweet. And you look older than you actually are, so I don't blame him.

I was like...OmG!  And then I called my BFFL and she laughed, and then I had to tell her mom, who was like "Well, sweetie, he was right!" I was laughing still.

Well, yeah, my life isn't interesting...but oh well!

    XOXO

  • Back home again....in Indiana...(it's a song, haha)

Alright, so I am home now, in dreary Indiana. And I say dreary because, while it really isn't too cloudy, the temperature is 34, it's windy, and to be honest, it might as well be snowing. On second thought, I actually enjoy the snow, it's so beautiful...so I suppose I should say it might as well be raining. Ok, now that we've established the mood (bored, jet-lagged, have 3 days' worth of homework ahead of me...due tomorrow....for 7 classes, and memorizing a whole dialogue for World Languages-God I really hate Mr McMillen)...and my mom's mood? I'll humor u with some dialogue...
"Get off the computer and do your homework. Once you do it all, you can enjoy yourself." Nicely put, Mom.

"OKAY, I KNOW! I  am getting off now." Man, can I lie through my teeth or what. Not to mention, i was sorta planning on going christmas shopping with my friend today...but watev....

I guess I should get started on my homework...sorry I just wasted about 5 minutes of your time...I promise you can return the favor :-)

  • Making History

Nice title, huh? Although I can assure you this sort of "Making History" isn't nearly as interesting, affective, or amazing as what we'll be hearing from Dani in the years to come! But history is history, afterall. So I guess this, my first blog post ever, was appropriately titled...to some extent.

Anyways, I don't really know what you're supposed to type on these things (it is, after all, my very very first blog post). So, I guess I'll talk about the party last night. Meeting you all was amazing. As my mom said (you'll find I quote her a lot =P) there were so many different personalities in the room, so many teenage girls. You had the energetic, peppy girls, you had the moody, quiet girls, you had the original, unique, "standing out" girls, you had the artsy girls and the shy girls, and you had the "OMG-I'm-SOO-bored-outta-my-mind-when-can-I-go-home" girls. They were all there. The only difficult thing for me was-Which author is which? Now, I know I'm not alone here by saying this, but even as I got the signatures, I didn't know who was who! But out of the few girls I actually talked to, and matched name-with-face-with-story, it became clear that you shouldn't always judge a book by its cover. The cover of RED is one example. It's just a cover. And I know that it doesn't look like me at all! With all the doodling, if that was my actual notebook, I'd freak (I'm kinda OCD/Perfectionist about a LOT of things--although I'm not sure that's something I necessarily want to admit to girls I'd had little to none conversations with). And I'm sure there are stories in the book and authors in real life that relate perfectly to the cover. Now, I'm not insulting Amy or who ever created the cover (or at least not intentionally!!!) because I realize, which is basically what I've been trying to say for the past paragraph of writing, there are sooo many different personalities in the book!!! SO MANY!!! It's insane, it really is!

More from me later-I'm in Kelly Otterness's mom's studio writing this, and my mom is lying down, reading a book on the stock market (her newfound hobby), although I'm sure she wants to get out and walk around town....although it is VERY cold out! But first, before I go (i just remembered a pretty funny story)..

Ok, so we were walking around Ludlow and Stanton (where we are staying), and my mom actually stopped and got me a coat, because, if you saw my little poncho-type-pea-coat-style "coat" last night at the party, you will know that with weather like today's, in NYC, I was freezing my butt off! And I literally tried on 10 different coats, trying to find one that fit my long arms (curse my height). It's a miracle!!! Haha, well...that's all from me...for now! =P
